What You’ll Do
Lead a team of Commodity Managers and Specialists that support sourcing, supplier onboarding, contract negotiation, software procurement, Bill-of-Materials (BOM) structuring, license compliance, supplier payment, analytics and audits for all third party software used in Cisco products and solutions. The team is also responsible for data analysis in support of business reviews, segment reviews, projects and initiatives.
You will own all process and procedures for the GSM Software & Services Team, ensuring that they are kept up-to-date and sufficient for team training and stakeholder reference.
You will work with your team and cross-functional stakeholders to meet the following objectives:
Negotiate license agreements to secure pricing and favorable terms and conditions
Manage supplier and commodity risks including financial risks, security risks, and compliance risks
Operationalize the set-up of new suppliers through supplier onboarding, risk assessment, contract execution, component/BOM structuring, royalty set-up and procurement.
Data collection and presentation for business reviews, supplier reviews, negotiations, audits, and special projects.
Document and formalize GSM Software & Services processes and procedures, then implement a recurring review process and change management.
Identify and implement software cost saving strategies.
Partner with Product Operations to ensure third party software implemented in Cisco’s products and services are identified and traceable and all related costs due to suppliers are paid timely and accurately
Maintain and continue to build a high performing team to meet software supplier management requirements for all monetization models
Drive innovative and transformational strategies to improve the services provided by the team
Who You’ll Work With
Lead team of Software commodity managers and specialists located in Bangalore. This Manager role requires significant collaboration with many cross-functional leaders within GSM, Product Operations, TnQ, GP&F, Business Entities, Legal, Finance, Royalty Accounting, and Global Procurement Services (GPS).
Who You Are
You are an experienced Commodity Manager or Software Engineering/IT Manager that can interpret license agreements is excited to lead business operations and commodity strategies in an evolving and dynamic software commodity space.
You are effective at ensuring processes, systems, and people operate in concert with each other and required training, support, and metrics are in place to measure and self-correct performance. Skilled at translating business/process improvement strategies into operational objectives and create plans including resourcing, budgets and commitments. Accomplished at providing coaching and guidance on job performance and career development, and deliberate at developing and nurturing a global, diverse, and inclusive team environment.
• 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management, software operations or related field
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Management/multi-discipline experience preferred
• Supplier management experience and ability to improve supplier service levels
• Knowledge of software licensing, contract compliance and royalty processes
• Software Bill-Of-Material (BOM) structuring preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization
• Exceptional collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence others
• Working understanding of networking industry
