At SPNSAI XR - India, We have Development work for the Next Generation XR based Packet over Optical Router. We are looking for candidates with Design and development knowledge networking protocols in C under multi process Operating system like Linux. Work involves development of different tasks in the complete product development under Agile Methodology

The SPNSA (Service Provider Networking Software and Automation team) has the charter for all Platform Independent and Platform Dependent software development across Switching (for all service provider), wireless, network services, routing, optical software and routing and cable access. This includes all the Operating Systems and network services for IOS-XR in Service Provider market segments. SPNSA is creating unprecedented customer value by providing cohesive and innovative software, platforms and solutions for Cisco's core networking customers.

Who You Are

Required is a Systems Software Development Manager to lead in the IOS-XR PI software development team, defining, developing, and track the plans for the new features and technologies. The successful candidate must be experienced in network protocols, infrastructure, and embedded software development. The opportunity exists to work in an exciting, high profile, fast paced, but structured dev environment. The ability to participate as part of a team and work within tight schedules is required.

Responsible for managing a project team, of 15 or more employees, who designs, delivers and supports software components in the area of Infrastructure software for IOS XR PI.

Detailed responsibilities include

  1. project planning and tracking,

  2. Technical mentoring/guidance to the project teams he/she owns

  3. dependency/risk management,

  4. process/quality management,

  5. performance management including setting clear performance and development goals for the employees,

  6. Performance assessment and managing rewards and ensuring high levels of employee engagement and retention.

He/she is also expected to work closely with Technical Architects, Program Teams and Product Marketing in arriving at roadmaps for the software components that they own. He/she is also expected to work as a part of a global software team collaborating effectively to deliver on common goals and plans

Skill Set:

  • Experience in managing project teams delivering to complex globally distributed programs in a software product environment

  • Experience in developing and maintaining products in operating systems or network protocols or embedded software areas

  • Experience in managing a high quality development team

  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

  • Must be able to work with multiple technical organizations and have proven strategic planning and partner relationship skills

  • Be conversant with software development and sustaining, Release cycles, and quality management principles

  • Result-oriented; Target driven

  • Attention to details, estimation and anticipation

  • Flexibility and adaptability to manage different domains and varying life cycle

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills

  • Direct skills in programming in Visual Basic Scripting and Perl is required.

  • Experience in programming in C/C++, Java, or other modern programming languages will be helpful.

  • Experience in installing / configuring of the Windows and Linux Health drivers, HPSIM, Server Agents is a must.

  • Must possess a very solid understanding of testing methodologies

Further skills in the following areas is highly desirable:

Excellent knowledge of L2/L3/L4 Protocols

Working Knowledge in one of the following Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba, Switches/Routers.
