What You’ll Do
This position is a Manager Systems Engineering role responsible for driving collaboration business vision, strategy and execution for the Commercial market. This is a customer facing role that focuses on supporting our collaboration engineering team as we together uncover business benefits for customers when moving to Cisco Unified Communication and Collaboration solutions. There is direct responsibility for leading and managing a team of high functioning, technical experts in a virtualized environment.
Leadership by influence is a critical skill in this role as you drive collaboration strategy to Territory and Select regions in the area and assume matrixed responsibility for regional collaboration SE engineers. Providing leadership to regional account teams to help them develop strategy and obtain out-of-area resources in the largest accounts is crucial. Customer satisfaction and success is key; a high amount of focus is placed on collaboration application adoption and developing referenceable customers. This leader should bring innovative approaches to driving business and be able to quickly build relationships and a network of resources that will benefit the business.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate will be self-driven and have a background in the Telecommunications field with both TDM and IP telephony; knowledge of room based and desktop video solutions; knowledge of Cisco's Unified Communications portfolio (IP PBX, phones, voicemail, unified messaging, web collaboration, voice gateways, contact center suite, video); as well as have prior management experience at Cisco or an equivalent environment. The best candidate will understand how to approach customers in this market to drive understanding and preference to Cisco's Unified Communications solutions.
There will be travel required in the territory stated above. We will greatly promote the appropriate use of TelePresence and Webex to allow the virtualization of all resources on this team. This role will work in partnership with a Collaboration Regional Manager to drive the business to stretch performance while focusing on customer satisfaction, developing the engineering team, and working with extended teams, such as Advanced Services, Marketing, Channels, Business Transformation team, and the like. Preferred location: West geography, major cities in the west.
•Minimum three years’ management experience required •Demonstrates the characteristics of a CLEAD leader •Ability to present topics in a clear and concise manner to many levels of business leaders and audience sizes •Knowledge of "traditional" voice communications systems and applications •Familiarity with IP voice communications systems, preferably Cisco's solutions •Strong business acumen and customer presence •Understanding of software sales motions
