What You'll Do

As the Utilities Industry Expert (UIE) supporting a major Southern California Power Utility, you will be responsible for providing expertise to Cisco and its customer in the areas of IT, Field Area Networking, Power Distribution Automation, and Power Utility Safety. UIE will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of safe working conditions in and around power utility sites.

Who You'll Work With

Close collaboration with Services Delivery Executive (SDE) is required to ensure all service lines and product deliver business outcomes to our clients. The UIE will work with all the service line delivery teams (Delivery, Advisory, Implementation, Technical Support, Management, Optimization, and Training) in both the IT and OT environments.

Who You Are

  • You have a deep understanding of power utility IT and OT tools, processes, and personnel.

  • You have experience installing and maintaining electrical power lines.

  • You have experience with power safety.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Typically requires BS, CS, or University degree equivalent. Advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in the power/utility industry Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) environment

  • Communication skills to include presentation/demonstration and written communication.

Desired Skills

The UIE has demonstrated expertise in the Power Utility IT and OT environment.

Experience/Skills: The following skillsets are desired of this candidate:

  1. Trusted advisor to deliver industry-leading expertise to meet customer need

  2. Deep knowledge and understanding of the unique requirements of power utility IT and OT environments

  3. Lead teams at utility sites to ensure safety and correct procedures are followed

  4. Qualified journeyman lineman

  5. Formal training in OSHA safety regulations

  6. Experience designing, building, and maintaining all types of electric power distribution systems

  7. Experience with construction procedures in overhead and underground distribution electricity

  8. Experience with utility trucks and equipment
