What You'll Do

This position will play a critical role in enabling Cisco to take Data Center Virtualization Solutions to market in areas of Service Provider IT, Public/Private/Hybrid Cloud, and Telco Cloud with NFV Solutions. The position of Data Center Product Specialist requires a balance of sales/business experience and technical acumen. You will be working closely with the Cisco Service Provider account team to develop and drive growth of DC technologies. The role could include working on sales opportunities in the Service Provider segment.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Engagement with the business & technical decision maker within the SP accounts with identified Data Center opportunities of applications, compute, storage and automation.

  • Be on the forefront of understanding and being able to communicate Cisco’s strategy and vision in this new technology direction

  • Having the ability to build in depth business expertise in the underlying and associated technologies and architectures.

  • Provide product expertise with business value for customers including ROI/TCO analysis.

  • Contribute to the development of content and messaging that emphasizes Cisco’s strengths in this market and resonate with both the field, partners and customers

  • Ability to execute on a business plan to gain market share, build solid relationships with customers and internal constituents.

  • Product Sales Specialists will be responsible for gaining market penetration with the associated solutions as well as establishing a breadth of reference accounts in a variety of verticals

  • Ability to do business forecasting on monthly/quarterly basis and achieve annual plans

  • Articulate and positioning business value of Cisco innovative DC architecture solutions to meet customer requirements

  • Developing bill of materials that reflect the architectural solutions

  • Contributing to the Cisco response RFI, RFP and RFQ document that might be issued by customers

  • Develop himself to be a trusted advisor and a leader in Data Center technology direction and innovation

Be part of this highly energized Regional Service Provider Architecture Sales team, as we drive the critical foundational infrastructure layer and set the SDN/NFV momentum for all other lines of Service Provider business. We will help drive the industry transformation towards virtualized services, complemented by high-capacity cutting-edge Routing Technology platforms which Cisco continue to lead as a market leader.

All of the technological inflections are happening in this technology segment now, such as virtualization, orchestration and programmability, and emergence of merchant silicon platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for the highly motivated, techno-commercial-savvy and self-starter Product Sales Specialist, eager to interact with industry thought CXO leaders and share the passion for technology innovations. Consisting of top talented individuals in APJ, you will collaborate closely with account teams’ Sales strategies and accelerate the impact of EPN business across regional ASEAN customers

Who You Are

You will have a proven record of accomplishment in Product Management or as a Compute/Storage Specialist or pre-sales Technical with Data Center or Cloud Solution vendors or equivalent experience in other related roles.

You must demonstrate strong pre-Sales skills and experience in both Data Center infrastructure and Cloud-Solution/Automation technology area:

DC Technology skills and experience (in at least 5 areas)

  • x86 compute hardware

  • Hyperconvergence, storage and data management systems

  • Openstack and other automation tools

  • Hypervisor technologies

  • Operating systems: Linux, Microsoft Windows, etc…

  • Understanding Enterprise applications and/or Development environments

  • big data (hadoop) infrastructure

  • private/hybrid cloud deployment

Additional experience includes

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Self-starter, Team player whilst also competitive (likes to win!)

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent industry certification (e.g. CCIE)
