Who You'll Work With

As a crucial member of the Cisco IOS-XE team, you will manage a group of experienced Software Engineers. You will have the opportunity to participate in the architecture, design, and development of some of the world’s most widely deployed Enterprise Routers and Switches. You will engage with Product Management teams to refine the roadmap, and Project Management teams to coordinate schedules. You will be interacting and working closely with some of the finest talent pool in the industry – where you will find that work is both fun and challenging.

Who You Are

Delivering products of excellent quality combined with effectively leading a bright group of engineers is what drives you. You have a good knowledge of L2, L3, and MPLS protocols and forwarding infrastructure. You possess the necessary skills to work in a highly collaborative, inclusive, and agile atmosphere in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering, orrelated technical discipline

  • 7+ years of industry experience

  • 3+ year experience in managing or leading software development teams

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and opinions

  • Knowledge of best practices for software design, planning, operations excellence and software delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our desired requirements for this role:

  • Experience with real-time O/S (VxWorks, pSOS or IOS, Linux, etc.)

  • experience in C/C++, Python, Make, Bash or similar languages

  • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, multicast protocols, segment routing, MPLS, SDN, manageability (telemetry, gRPC, Netconf/Yang, etc.)
