Modernizing the Software Development Environment at Cisco bringing best in class tools from the industry and open source for use by engineers at Cisco. This job truly aims at changing the way every engineer at Cisco lives, plays, works and learns! The R&D campus in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada is looking for experienced tools/software developers. You will be an active member of the development team and contribute to the implementation, testing and delivery of state-of-the-art tools infrastructure. We are looking for a collaborative engineering professional with substantial experience designing and development.

Role & Responsibilities

The R&D campus in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada is looking for experienced SW/Tools developers. You will be an active member of the development team and contribute to the implementation, testing and customer delivery of state-of-the-art automation infrastructure solutions. Integrate new tools and developed technology frameworks/prototypes using different open source tools

Requirement

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in CS/EE or equivalent

  • 6+ years of tools/software development experience

  • Interest in test automation, tooling & end-to-end test solutions

  • Proficiency in software development (one or more of, in the order of desirability): Python, Java, Tcl, C#, C/C+* Familiarity with Unix/Linux and web-application development (HTML, JavaScript, AJAX etc.)

  • Creative problem solving skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills

  • Superior coding skills with a solid understanding of OOP design patterns & recipes

  • Solid understanding of software development and test processes

Desirable Pluses

  • Full-stack development experience, HTML5, NodeJS, Gunicorn, Nginx, HAProxy, WSGI, ASGI, etc

  • Working knowledge of DB ORM & Database (MySQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB etc.); Data Collection APIs and SDKs; RESTful interfaces.

  • Experience with network test equipment, traffic generators such as IXIA, Spirent

  • Good grasp of networking technologies, routing protocols (ex. TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS), L2 technologies, IPv6, forwarding plane

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum process
