Responsibilities

Define, design, and deliver new software features for Cisco's Switching and Routing Products.Work on phenomenal design methodologies with a system-level focus and with opportunities to understand the impact of every component Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product spec. Lead development of subsystems. Design and develop large portions of software independently and rapidly. Provide constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements.

Who You'll Work With

You’ll work on a project team of highly motivated, best of breed engineers involved in the development ofRouting/Overlays softwarefor our next generation Nexus product family.

You’ll closely interact across Engineering and Marketing teams to understand customer needs and devise solutions.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in C programming.

  • Experience with software algorithms and data-structures that are used to build scalable and efficient systems.

  • Knowledge of routing infrastructure or LAN/WAN protocols is a plus.

  • Hands on experience on switch/router hardware/software embedded system environment is a plus.

  • Strong problem solving and software development/troubleshooting skills.

  • Expert knowledge in crafting software with multi-threading, event handling and state machines

  • Good knowledge on modern operating system design such as multitasking, kernels, filesystems, etc.

  • Possess creative analytical skills and excellent troubleshooting/debugging skills

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills

  • MSEE/CS with 3+ years or BSEE/CS with 5+ years of related experience is required.
