What You'll Do
Be on the forefront of understanding and being able to communicate Cisco’s strategy in this new technology direction.
Contribute to the development of content and messaging that emphasizes Cisco’s strengths in this market and resonates with both the field and customers.
You will be a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides high level technical support and guidance to customers. Build and improve your vertical and architectural expertise and build multi-functional support for proposed solutions.
You will collaborate with the Account Manager to recommend and develop customer solution offerings.
You will provide an architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio and can use your technical specialization for specific opportunities.
You will act in an increasingly consultative fashion and looked to as a guide, or trusted technical adviser, in your field by the account team and customers.
You engage customers face-to-face or via collaborative tools and technology such as WebEx, Telepresence, etc.
You will participate in the creation of a technical account plan and actively generate leads through customer meetings, seminars, and education.
Define solution options and articulate the benefits of a Cisco solutions.
Develop proof of concept, including presentation and documentation of test results and Develop and lead development of presentation materials.

Having the ability to build in depth expertise in the underlying and associated technologies and architectures.
The pre-sales role requires highly skilled customer-focused technical sales professional who provides in-depth technical information and specific design/implementation mentorship to one customer in a dedicated manner.
You’ll provide an advanced architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio, including software and services, bringing to bear knowledge of the broad Cisco portfolio as well as technical specializations as needed. He / she collaborates with the rest of the sales ecosystem on strategic and complex opportunities and coordinates additional resources (e.g. consulting specialists, demo labs, etc.) to recommend, develop, and propose appropriate customer solution and services offerings.
You act in a consultative fashion and are looked upon as a trusted technical advisor by the account team and customer allowing the Systems Engineer to identify Cisco solution opportunities aligned to the customer's business goals. You are considered an authority in one or more specializations.
Have both a high level of technical and sales competency and the ability to articulate the flow of information through a proposed system or solution as well as deliver C level messaging as to the business benefits of the proposed Cisco solution.
Large-scale Data Center Switch fabric architectures.
Knowledge of L2/L3 topology design and protocol implementation.
Understanding of new protocols being deployed intra and inter Data Center
Cloud Computing architecture: understanding of Iaas/PaaS/SaaS concepts and architectures, understanding and experiences of main stream cloud computing technologies and platforms (SDN, SDS, OpenStack, VMWare, KVM, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, GCP, Ali Cloud etc..)
Micro Services architecture and Container technologies: understanding of Micro Services and Cloud Native architectures, understanding and experiences of Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Container networking etc..)
Basic understanding of variable application development processes and tools (Waterfall, CI/CD, DevOps tools etc..)
Orchestration, provisioning, automation methodologies and technologies: understanding and experiences of networking API programmability (RESTful, NETCONF, Yang Model, XML, JASON etc..), basic knowledge of orchestration and automation tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack etc..)
Basic knowledge of Big Data and Machine Learning concepts and business scenarios.
IoT architecture and technologies fundamentals: understanding of Fog Computing/Edge Computing concepts and architectures, common IoT business scenarios and methodologies.
Concepts and implementation of Cisco’s Unified Computing System.
Deep working knowledge of Cisco DC Technologies and protocols including NX-OS.
Understanding of barriers to Application Performance and their solutions: latency, bandwidth consumption, network congestion, packet loss, transport throughput, etc.
