The Team

Cisco’s Information Security (InfoSec) group is working to evolve next-generation security models and architectures for Cisco to enable our Trusted Device, Mobility, Collaboration, Virtualization and Cloud initiatives. Our mission is to innovate and adopt the most effective information security technologies and policies in order to protect Cisco; and reflect these in our products and services.

Role & Responsibilities

To help engineer and drive adoption of our security models, InfoSec's Enterprise Infrastructure Security team seeks someone with experience, flexibility and strong communication skills to provide leadership in the role of Information Security Engineer. The position is focused on providing security solutions in regards to Cisco's infrastructure security initiatives for all aspects of the network and end user platform including: differentiated user access, mobile devices, physical and virtualized systems, strong identity systems, and cloud services integration. The Security Engineers' responsibilities include:

●Use cutting edge network security technologies to provide identity, device security posture and differentiated network access to our employees and partners

●Develop, review and approve network security designs and architectures

●Influence and drive the advancement of Cisco's Mobility, Cloud Service, Trusted Device, Network and Data Center Virtualization strategies

●Deliver solution proposals to continuously improve the security posture of IT infrastructure, labs, extranet, acquisitions, and Cloud based services.

●Evaluate and test security architectures including Cisco products, third party technologies and services, and locally developed toolsets

●Partner with Cisco product development and IT teams to influence product roadmaps and adoption

●Showcase and share security best practices with Cisco customers, partners and internal organizations

●Remain cognizant of emerging security threats and industry best practices, and advise the organization of potential risks and threat mitigation techniques

●Establish, evolve and enforce information security policies, standards and guidelines

●Document security solutions and operational methods and procedures

●Help design, implement, and support an updated lab antimalware solution

●Assist in the design and implementation of a large scale, virtualized lab segmentation solution

●Aide in the design and upgrade of a new security services platform and test to determine the ideal hardware configuration for compute models to support multiple security services on the platform

●Assist in analyzing existing Interconnect sites, business needs for Interconnect, migration options (based on current models) and efforts needed from InfoSec

Minimum Qualifications

●BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent and 4+ years of technical experience. Security (CCNP Security, CISSP), network/system administration or design related certifications are a plus

●Security fundamentals with a solid understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, risks, defenses, security principles and policies

●Strong foundation in network security technologies such as firewalls, remote access, application security, device hardening, intrusion detection and prevention, network segmentation, encryption, mobility, collaboration

●Solid presentation, demonstration and written communication skills

●Systems engineering, design and operational experience

●Experience with cutting edge datacenter and network virtualization technologies

●Applied conceptual and analytical thinking, problem solving skills

●Consulting and partnering skills with enterprise perspective and influence

●Design and implementation experience in network security (Firepower, Identity Services Engine) for large scale organizations

●Experience with 802.1x implementation and support

●Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural team setting

●Ability to speak both the language of technology as well as the language of the business
