What You'll Do

Within Cisco’s Security & Trust Organization (S&TO), our engineering team researches, develops, and delivers best-in-class foundational security and trustworthy technologies – enabling customer differentiating, pervasive security with a “secure by default” posture. In this role, you will simplify, develop, test and automate security for Cisco’s cloud tenants & service offerings.

Who You'll Work With

Our cloud security engineering team develop tools, software, technologies and procedures that facilitate the strong security posture for Cisco's Cloud offerings. These technologies include configuration and hardening modules that install, configure and secure open source operating systems and components for Cisco-branded offerings running in the public cloud and virtual environments.

Who You Are

  • You are excited to contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges related to developer & engineering productivity and velocity

  • You design/build, enhance/adapt advance automated build, test and release infrastructure

  • You are a driver for adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability

  • You analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability

Required Skills:

  • 6-8+ years of experience in a highly technical role, developing or launching new cloud & virtualization related security services, products or technologies.

  • Experience designing, setting up and maintaining automation frameworks, tools and scripts for CI/CD environments.

  • You possess deep understanding of: cloud provisioning, configuration management & deployment, including Ansible and Puppet, AWS or Google cloud platforms, and related services, Apache, NGINX, etc.

  • Strong knowledge and experience using OO Python, Java or Ruby

  • Source control and build tools experience with GIT, Jenkins, Jira

  • Worked in a fast-paced Agile development environment.

  • Solid understanding of SDLC phases including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, release and maintenance.

  • Testing experience with cloud, database or storage products strongly preferred

  • Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies, languages, and frameworks

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field

  • United States citizenship is required.

Desired Skills

  • Hands-on experience using commonly used open source software components

  • Possess excellent testing, problem solving and troubleshooting/debugging skills

  • Hands-on experience with Virtualization & Container technologies

  • Good knowledge of Linux networking and firewall configuration

  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  • Strong team player, we are both Agile and agile, and we’re a team that’s constantly working together.

  • Strong OO programming experience

  • Passion for product and customer, not just for code.

  • MS in Computer Science or related technical field
