What You'll Do

The Software Architect will be a self-starting, collaborative, and driving force for solution delivery. You will be responsible for leading software architectures, designs, and delivery in support of security automation efforts in a DevSecOps model. You will provide leadership and will be hands-on with developing security tools and plug-ins that enable IT, security, product, and DevOps teams throughout Cisco to meet security protocols and carry out effective security operations. You will provide oversight and guidance to a team of developers and ensure the right things are done, the right way, at the right time.

This is a substantial role that enables enterprise-wide security enforcement initiatives and aligns with the company objectives around pervasive security. The security automation procedures aligned with DevOps team processes will facilitate easier compliance and effective operations.

, we require:

  • A Master’s degree (BS/BA with additional experience will be considered) and at least 10 years of growing responsibility for positioning and delivering software solutions with a focus on security

  • Strong leadership, consulting, and partnering skills

  • An understanding of development in public clouds (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and private cloud platforms (e.g. OpenStack) and their respective service offerings

  • Experience with Python and scripting languages; Java, JavaScript and other languages are a plus

· Experience with CI/CD toolchains (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible)

· Experience with architecting and designing software and data modelling for modularity, scalability, ease of deployment, and use

· Experience with the SDLC, agile delivery models and software quality assurance

· Experience building a modern software stack based on containers and software-defined everything

· Relevant experience in securing workloads in public/private/hybrid architectures including network, identity/access, incident detection and response, data protection, certificate and key management, and infrastructure/software security

· Ability to collaborate with many diverse teams and support them in the adoption of capabilities

· Ability to work with multi-functional teams to drive feature development

· Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and develop a cohesive team focused on release outcomes

· Ability to engage engineering partners or vendor resources and develop contractual agreements, appropriate engagement models, and software delivery and quality assurances

· Ability to work alongside the leadership team to develop and evolve long-term strategies while consistently driving planned activities

· Ability to successfully lead multiple complex activities and major initiatives

· A proven ability to learn and adapt to new and complex development environments with deep-dive analytical skills
