What You’ll Do

You will cultivate strong partnerships with management and act as a trusted adviser while driving engineering resource planning, forecast process, accuracy, reporting and analysis for Return On Investment (ROI) and develop spending and profitability models and forecasts for the business utilizing inputs from cross-functional partners. You will work collaboratively across Finance, Operations, Engineering, FP&A, and IT organizations to develop process and assumptions.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You’ll lead forecast improvement process, system and tools, and guide how top-line growth and Opex impacts profitability.

  • You will support analysis of assumptions which can change the forecast, such as portfolio decisions, priority changes, initiatives, attrition, new acquisitions, new business model introduction etc. and provide recommendations to the executive teams, segment and solutions team and cross-functional finance teams.

  • You’ll leverage business knowledge and data to provide valued input into the monthly HC and expense forecast and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize forecast assumptions.

  • You will articulate the key drivers of growth and forecast changes to executive leads and challenge assumptions as needed

  • You’ll partner with engineering executives for Budget and Commit

Who You’ll Work With

The Business Technology and Operations Finance organization partners with leaders in Engineering and Operational Functions to build sustainable shareholder value through strategic long-range planning, new business development, forecasting and budgeting.

The Business Technology and Operations Finance team (BTOF) has an opportunity within the Enterprise Engineering, Connected Car & Digital Network Architecture Group for a Finance Business Analyst role to work closely with the broader Engineering and Operations team for resource planning, forecasting, portfolio analysis and directed Initiatives. The Finance Business Analyst will have an opportunity to work with the various cross functional senior leaders and implement business metrics, new forecasting & reporting process for the BTOF organization as well as for the management team.

You will be responsible for achieving goals that may affect Profitability, so you will need to bring a well-developed business and finance acumen, along with being self-motivated, having a positive attitude, and being team-oriented. You will have a knowledge of the business, be able to engage with cross-functional teams, and provide valuable support to management.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • You hold a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting / Finance with a minimum of 5+ years of business, financial planning, and/or accounting experience.

  • You exhibit excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills with executive leaders

  • You are a self-starter who actively manages challenging deliverables to meet business commitments and partner's expectations

  • You have a proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analysis skills

Desired Skills

  • Strong process and tools and project management skills

  • Proficiency in Essbase, Business Objects and Tableau
