What You’ll Do:
Cisco Finance - Global Accounting & Reporting - Consolidations team has an exciting role open for a senior manager based in San Jose, California. You will be a people manager position mainly responsible for Cisco’s monthly management reporting and consolidation process.
This is a global role which will offer you an excellent opportunity to:
You will understand Cisco’s consolidated financial statements and ability to interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
You'll earn and manage Cisco’s virtual close process and drive automation and process improvements
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with business partners
You'll interact frequently with senior leaders in Global Accounting and Reporting (GAR), Corporate Controller’s Group (CCG) and broader Finance organization
You will be responsible for a team of 4 to 5 highly motivated finance professionals
Detailed job responsibilities are as follows, you will:
Lead the consolidated financial statements reporting and analysis to finance executives. Work directly with executives on continuous improvements
Manage the monthly global consolidation process for 400 Cisco subsidiaries
Resolve close issues and conduct detailed root cause analysis
Review policies, processes and SOX controls owned by consolidations team, along with process and system improvements, automation and other ad hoc projects (new business models, new accounting standards, systems implementations)
Have admin responsibilities for tools used by consolidations team (HFM, GL cube)
Who You’ll work with:
The Consolidations team is part of Global Accounting and Reporting (GAR) that rolls up to Corporate Controllers Group (CCG) in Finance and are responsible for (i) overseeing Cisco’s entire one-day close driving disciple into process and driving continuous process improvements and (ii) for preparation, reporting and analysis of consolidated financial statements.
You will interact and work closely with various cross-functional finance teams globally and finance leadership, including entity accounting teams across Americas, EMEA and APJC, functional finance teams (such as External Reporting, Technical Accounting and Policy, Treasury Accounting, etc)

You have good communication, business partnering and teamwork skills. You are confident in your ability to present complex issues to senior executives succinctly and persuasively. You passionate about working cross-culturally, across all levels of the organization and apply specific knowledge to new situations and requests.
Our minimum requirements for this role, are
You hold a Bachelors’ degree in finance or accounting, with 10+ years of strong accounting and finance background, experience in financial reporting. A US CPA is highly desirable
You have a strong attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy
You can react to changes quickly and deal with challenging situations
You have people management experience and have coached, mentored and sponsored employees in various capacities
You are flexible at times to work with other groups in different time zones
You are eager to learn, have strong accounting experience with a large, well regarded multinational corporations in combination with public accounting (preferably big 4 firm) experience.
