You will respond to information document requests (“IDRs”) for Cisco’s federal and state income tax audits. This will include Domestic, International, and Transfer Pricing issues.

You will prepare various calculations and supporting documentation for the IRS audit, including U.S. taxable income, E&P, segmented P&Ls, Section 199 calculation, Subpart F, and Section 78 Gross-up.

You will prepare final audit calculations using BNA software.

You will assist/support Payroll and Global Compensation on tax and audit related issues.

You will prepare presentations for internal Cisco meetings and for Exam teams.

You will research tax issues as needed.

You will interact with various audit teams.


Your team manages the IRS and state income tax audits in the U.S. The team also supports Payroll and Global Compensation with tax related issues. You will work closely with the Domestic, International, and Transfer Pricing teams within Global Tax and Customs (“GTC”) and various groups within the company, including Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, M&A, Business Development, Payroll, Engineering, and Global Compensation. Your team meets with IRS/state auditors weekly to respond to their information requests and to explain Cisco’s tax and accounting methodologies.


You are an exceptional tax professional who is highly motivated, hardworking, eager to learn, and strive for the type of work-life balance that Cisco can offer. You have strong communications and work well within teams.


  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline, with 8+ years of tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax department.

  • You have a working knowledge of U.S. income tax return preparation.

  • You bring with you, good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

  • You are team player.


  • CPA/Masters in Tax

  • 8+ years of tax experience in US domestic/international income tax experience

  • Project management skills

  • BNA software experience
