Global Supplier Management (GSM) is part of Supply Chain Operations and is responsible for sourcing and costing activities from a manufacturing perspective. The GSM team ensures continuity of supply, quality and develops the commodity strategies for the hundreds of products that Cisco manufactures. The team maintains close relationship with component suppliers and collaborates with them to consistently drive innovation, productivity and efficiency.
High level responsibilities:
Commodity Management – Responsible for costing and quoting activities for a given commodity(s). Collaborates across boundaries by involving other commodity specialists and managers across GSM and Finance.
Program Management – Determines costing requirements and assists in building quotes and finalizing the agreements. Resolves small-scale costing issues and raises awareness as appropriate within the vertical.
RFQ Management including quote cycle preparation; build, publish and close RFQs; manage cost holes and re-quotes; supplier upload; assist with setting splits and distributing split awards; sending PCP.
Manage tools and reporting including tool testing, spend and cost savings analysis, data integrity and verification, and the following reports: Cost Savings, Supplier Spend Usage, QAS, CQI and CT2R. Also responsible for MOQ governance and collaborating with IT on tool issues.
Risk attributes – Maintain CPN attributes (risk ratings, comments) and item attribute updates.
Other responsibilities – Manage AVL updates and supplier name, set up and onboarding; update supplier contacts in Aravo; maintain team website; SBR preparation.
Who You'll Work With
In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Sourcing and Supplier Commodity Managers, GSM Leadership, and will interact cross functionally with all other Supply Chain functions.
Who You Are
You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5-7 years experience in Commodity Management, Material Management or Supply Chain Management. You have hands on experience in ERP (Oracle, SAP) with excellent written and verbal communication skills, global business insight and program management skills. HW manufacturing or product development industry is preferred.
Overall knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes and procedures with basic understanding of manufacturing industry and commodities. Knowledge of Bills of Materials is essential. You should have experience with international suppliers and supplier development, supplier set-up and cost loading activity. You should also have knowledge of component attributes, supplier enrollment, AVL maintenance, supply chain tools, spend management and cost savings reports.
You should also:
Understand share of business, partner and vendor relationship and supplier business reviews.
Have experience in project management, negotiation and presentations along with ability to influence cross-functionally.
Have experience working with RFQ management tools like Ariba, Agile, and Oracle.
Participate in Commodity teams with minimal direction toward daily goals and objectives and continuously looks for opportunities to contribute.
