  • What You'll Do We're looking for an engineer who can assess new Cisco products at a block diagram level, formulate a robust H.A.L.T. (highly accelerated life test) plan, and execute that testing to identify potential reliability issues. You'll be working with new products, before they ship to customers, to ensure we're exceeding our customers' reliability expectations. You'll have the opportunity to find the operational limits of our new products and drive any improvements needed to ensure customer success. You will be configuring new products and testing them with external network traffic analyzers, utilizing a HALT chamber to apply temperature and vibration stress factors. When failures occur, you will assess severity, drive to root cause as appropriate, and ensure corrective actions are applied when needed. Who You'll Work With You will collaborate with multiple design engineering teams on test coverage and root cause analysis as well as quality engineering and failure analysis engineers, all passionate about the reliability of our customer's networks. Who You Are

  • You will be the voice of the customer and your ability to influence others will be a key to success. You will need to assess hardware at the block diagram level or preferably, the schematic level. You will bring to bear your analytical and problem solving skills to find and understand failures and assist at getting to the root cause of these failures.

  • You have a BSEE and an affinity for programming, as Python based scripting will be used to automate much of the testing. You will have, or quickly acquire an understanding of, networking protocols and network interface types to configure networking equipment and traffic generators/analyzers (Cisco can assist with training).
