What You'll Do

This position resides in the Cloud Platforms and Solutions Group (CPSG), an organization that enables Cisco to win in the multi-cloud, automated world of ICT. CPSG focuses on driving cloud management and network orchestration products and providing solutions/reference architectures for multi-cloud environments.

This role has the following responsibilities:

  • Automation Framework development activities

  • Python based scripting

  • CI/CD deployment activities

  • Feature and Solution Testing

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades and provisioning deployments

As a Software Engineer working on Solution and Automation Test, you will be part of an agile, dynamic, high-energy and committed team to deliver the best of Class Solution to Next Generation Enterprise Network Alliance (NGENA), a company that is building a global network forging alliance with Premier Communication Service Providers across every region of the globe. The technology platform features a highly standardized, globally shared overlay and underlay network infrastructure powered by Cisco technologies including: Viptela SD-WAN, NFV in cloud and on premise, global services orchestration, software defined network and security services, NFV Infrastructure based on Cisco VIM (an Open Stack solution) delivered as a Service, all wrapped in a secure solution at global scale.

You will work in a fast paced agile development team working with cutting edge software and tools to develop disruptive solutions with a focus on simplicity. Are you pushing the envelope?

Who You Are

  • You will need to have 10 plus years of industry experience in Information Technology.

  • Hold a BS or MS in computer science or a related field

  • 2 plus years of experience in scripting using Python.

  • 1 plus years of experience in Ansible or Puppet/Chef, with Ansible preferred.

  • 1 plus years of experience with python based test automation framework like ROBOT

  • 3 plus years of experience in programming with languages like Python, C, Java.

  • Candidates must possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams

  • 1 plus experience with ci/cd tools like Jenkins, GIT, Gerrit.

  • Knowledge of networking technologies and protocols

  • Knowledge of Operating system (Linux) fundamentals and secure configuration

  • Problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging

  • Candidates must possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams

Desirable skills:

  • Virtualization platforms and techniques

  • Prior devOps knowledge and work experience

  • Knowledge of Openstack port security and security groups

  • Good at multitasking

  • Experience with multiple distributions (Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc), networking (bonding, bridging, iptables, vlans, OVS, etc), virtualization (KVM, libvirt, etc)

  • Good understanding of Cisco devices and their operating system

  • Detail-oriented personality who keeps the big picture in mind
