What You'll Do
Component Engineering’s mission is to enable Cisco product excellence by ensuring component manufacturability, quality and reliability.
As a member of the Component Engineering (CE) team, you will be assigned specific CE responsibilities and become the Cisco technical resident expert for Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).
You'll partner with Cisco development engineers, commodity teams, and suppliers/partners to develop next generation PCB solutions to meet Cisco requirements.
You will partner for assessment and qualification of new PCB suppliers, contribute to the development of the PCB commodity strategy, participate in the supplier selection process, and participate in supplier technical and process audits as required.
You will also help drive PCB failure analysis, containment, and corrective actions - and work with manufacturing management and engineering management to resolve complex technical problems.
In addition, you will support new PCB design activities including: early engagement with the product teams, active engagement with the PCB CE supplier managers, participation in PCB design and development meetings, and participation in design review for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost.

Business units as your partners and customers - influencing the PCB roadmap and navigating the trade-offs between performance, quality, time to market and cost to enable scaling Cisco’s hardware engineering roadmap. And also leading component Failure Analysis activities during development and production.
Suppliers of the commodity space you are managing - influencing and monitoring PCB supplier's ongoing development methodologies and processes in regards to performance assessment in line with supplier specifications and component long term reliability, in addition to ongoing assessment of supplier quality management systems capabilities.
Supply Chain organization functions including Global Supply Management, Product Operations and Global Manufacturing Organization.
Who You Are
You should have an Engineering degree or equivalent, plus 10+ years PCB manufacturing experience
You have thorough PCB design, qualification, manufacturing, test, quality, and reliability knowledge and experience
You can lead multiple technical projects and manage day to day work while also focusing on long term goals
You are familiar with industry specifications and requirements
You are focused on teamwork and collaboration, participating in and leading cross organizational teams
You have strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills along with customer focus, decision-making, influencing and ability to meet deadlines
You thrive working with internal and external partners via periodic summaries and project status overviews
You have a high level of motivation and energy
You are effective with multi-functional communication and have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
