What You'll Do
As an Optical Transceiver Product Engineer, you'll be part of Cisco's cross-functional team that manages a portfolio of over 400 products. Through empowerment, you will interact with internal Engineering, Customer Support and Manufacturing to grow and sustain this portfolio, often working alone in this regard. In addition, you're responsibilities include:
Work with multiple Program Managers, across the portfolio, concurrently to maintain a multi-source cost competitive portfolio.
Responsible for taking JDM, OEM and CM transceivers from prototype to HVM.
Work in collaboration with Engineering and Technology & Quality teams to maintain Supply Chain commitments and Quality metrics.
Drive the characterization of NPI product performances and yield including benchmark correlation to meet and/or exceed product cost targets
Review qualification plans and results with product development and validation engineers.
Author archival documentation to record the Acceptance Criteria Conformity for every program.
Support Customer Field Issues to maintain Customer Satisfaction

Product Operations is the organization that enables and accelerates innovation to build an extraordinary customer experience & competitive advantage for Cisco through end-to-end Operations leadership and Product Lifecycle Management. In this role, you're a key Product Operations team member specifically supporting the Transceiver Module Group, a global team of creative thought leaders pushing the boundaries of the Internet daily.
You will be a member of the product engineering team that partners with a multi-functional team of engineers (Design, Technology & Quality, & Test) to develop, qualify, and release predominantly OEM sourced product to manufacturing.

At minimum, we require:
BS minimum/MS preferred degree in Electrical Engineering, physics or material science or equivalent educational background
5+ years of hands-on experience in Optics and Electrical Engineering
Hands on working knowledge of optoelectrons components and modules. Understand the properties of various types of lasers and photo diodes.
Experience with optical transceivers, VCSEL array, RF, and analog/digital circuits.
Experience in interacting with offshore manufacturing facilities to help drive ongoing cost/yield improvements
Experience to read and interpret complex engineering data sheets and specification. Ability to analyze the impact of changes to production specifications whether they are electrical and/or optical.
Extraordinary communication skills both oral and written to give and receive complex or sensitive information inside and outside the organization
Excellent interpersonal skills capable of working in a team and interacting with all levels of associates both internal and external to organization.
