Cisco’s Cable Business Unit is working on two key next generation products - 1) cloud native cable modem termination system (CMTS) 2) Full automation and orchestration system (based on cloud native architecture) for managing the cloud native CMTS and cable service provider network provisioning and operations. This team is responsible for the architecture, design and development of these next gen cloud CMTS products. These next generation products are built on open source based cloud native architecture (Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Cassandra….) and will run on any generic server h/w platform running Linux Host OS. The team is responsible for end to end software components spanning cloud native infrastructure, Orchestration, Automation, Telemetry, Health monitoring, DOCSIS control and data plane etc.The team is looking for a Technical Leader for Cloud Native infrastructure track. The job roles and responsibilities include:
Works with other members of cross-functional teams, joint ventures,third party vendors and Company's Product Managers and Marketing teamsto deliver quality products, in a timely fashion, that meet definedrequirements.
Creates product and technical requirements, detailed designdocuments including transaction, capacity and bandwidth models, systemsdefinitions, and operational procedures as part of this process.
Ensures that projects are properly accepted into the engineering team,worked on in a timely and efficient manner and smoothly transitionedinto Quality Assurance and Operations teams.
Provides guidance and accepts accountability for the performance andreliability of various cross-platform applications and services, andensures that system failures are restored in a timely manner.
Recommends courses of action, technology, technical solutions, longterm vision and vision of what needs to happen to grow the Company.
Develops state-of-the art solutions to maximize on technology andbusiness applications.
Understand and employ best practices for high availability and scalability.
Expertise in following open source technologies is required
