What You'll Do

If you are interested in next generation networking technologies and helping developers use our products to meet their goals. You are probably also a software engineer with experience from working in teams and have experience of interacting directly with customers. There is occasional business trips to Sweden as well as within the continental United States.

We are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer, based in San Jose, CA, to extend our support & engineering teams located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Who You'll Work With

You will work with the Tail-f business entity of Cisco Systems that is the top tier developer of configuration management software for networking equipment providers. Six of the ten largest global networking equipment providers use our products to significantly improve their management solutions.

Who You Are

Tail-f Systems has a majority of its customers in the US, and many of these are located in the San Francisco Bay area. The customer demand for access to local support engineers has been steadily growing and now building a professional team to meet and exceed customer expectations.

  • This position is intended to bridge the gap between the customers in the region and the Support and Development teams in our head office in Sweden.

  • This role of Technical Support Engineer is deeply technical and requires 3 to 5 years of software development.

  • Extended expertise, in order to effectively train our customers and assist with technical issue analysis and design consultations.

This position requires:

  • You will need to have 3 to 5 years of software development and product support within the telecom and IP domain

  • Do you have experience from software development in a variety of programming languages and development platforms, such as C, Java, shell script and Makefiles in a Linux environment?

  • Unix/Linux system experience

  • Understanding the concepts of data modeling

  • Network management knowledge

  • Fluency in the English language
