Who You'll Work With

Cisco’s Central Hardware team focuses on your leading-edge technology innovations that drive Cisco HW business. This Central hardware organization is staffed with world class talent and is looking for Hardware / Signal Integrity Engineer with specialized knowledge in High Speed Design. The candidate will be responsible for design and analysis of high speed interfaces and power distribution networks. The candidate will work as part of a central Signal Integrity team participating in designing ASIC, package, chip, printed circuit board (PCB), and system interconnects. Interacts directly with system architects, logic designers, ASIC engineers, CAD engineers and other SI engineers.

What You'll Do

The Cat6K-CRDC-SI team supports hardware development for several Cisco product families with Core Switching as primary focus. Projects span the range from high volume, cost-sensitive systems to the latest technology, high-complexity applications, including Cisco’s custom silicon. Team is currently working on 56G/112G serial link solutions to address the continued demand to accelerate bandwidth

● Performing static timing and signal integrity analysis of parallel (common clock, source-synchronous) interfaces

● Design and analysis of high-speed serial links, including lab verification and tuning

● Work directly with ASIC and PCB design teams to evaluate design tradeoffs and optimize design performance / risk / cost / manufacturability

● Perform pre- and post-route signal integrity analysis of both PCB and ASIC package designs

● Generating and verifying PCB layout rules

Who You Are

● Familiar with industry (IEEE, OIF) standards

● Hands on experience with at least one PCB post-route SI tool

● Experience with Synopsys HSPICE for both time and frequency domain circuit simulation

● Experience with at least one 3-D field solver (CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft HFSS)

● BSEE or related field with 5 years of applicable work experience or MSEE or related field with 3 years of experience

Desired Skills

● Good understanding to communication theory and DSP technology

● Familiar with serdes architecture, modeling and lab tuning. Experience with AMI simulation using tools like ADS, QCD or Matlab. Experience of lab tuning using scripts like TCL,Python or Ruby

● Experienced with TDR and VNA measurements

● Good understanding to power distribution and simulation
