What You'll Do
You will provide leadership and hands-on management to define and execute all marketing related strategies and execution activities for Canada. This includes marketing strategy development and field execution in collaboration with members of the Canada leadership team, the Americas Marketing & Communications leadership team, and the broader global marketing community.
Your specific responsibilities include:
Strategic Direction – using data and customer experience input to establish appropriate marketing mix to accomplish Canada sales goals, committing to both a long-range vision and plan and detailed and dynamic annual plans.
People Development and Team Operating Model - leading a diverse team through the transformation Cisco is driving from Products to Services and Recurring Revenue offerings and building future leaders capable of succession. Managing and evolving the overall marketing operating model, including role clarity, interrelationships and relationships with other organizations.
Complex Budget Management - building trusted relationships with partners across Marketing, Sales and Partners to deliver a full Marketing offer portfolio and clearly demonstrate ROI.
Operational Decision-making - managing complex decision-making processes; securing relevant information and identifying key issues. Driving action after developing alternative courses of action, which take into consideration resources, constraints, culture and organizational values.
Strategic Relationships - using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to influence and establish effective relationships with business partners (including: country leader and SLT, peers, customers, functional partners, external vendors, and alliance partners)
Business & Technical Knowledge - understanding and utilizing economic, financial, customer and industry data to diagnose business opportunities; identifying key issues and developing strategies and plans. Building and applying a deep understanding of our solutions and business model.
Customer/External Orientation - cultivating strategic customer, vendor and association relationships to ensure the customer, partner and industry perspective is the driving force behind our plans and execution.
Marketing Innovation & Transformation – evolve an omnichannel strategy that uses automation and programmatic capabilities in an environment of testing and optimization. Cultivate an innovation culture and recognize team creativity. Be creative in a fast-changing, resource constrained environment
Whom You'll Work With
Our team works with customers, partners and internal stakeholders in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to drive marketing strategies that help customers achieve business outcomes and grow Cisco’s Canada business. You have a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and agile team that is undergoing a full evolution of its practices and skills to become more integrated and automated using a digital/omnichannel approach where practical, so our marketing becomes more personalized and effective.
You will be a strategic partner to the Canada Country Leader, her leadership team, and to your counterparts across Americas Marketing & Communications. To use the latest tech and practices, you will build relationships across the global team to apply all Global Marketing & Communications has to offer.
You will partner closely with Sales leaders and Strategy/Planning/Operations to integrate digital seller activities with marketing, to create effective motions for Cisco and Partner sellers.
Who You Are
You have 12+ years Marketing Management experience and at least 3 years in a senior position with at least 10 direct reports, primarily with B2B high-tech companies.
You have extensive field and marketing experience with proven strengths in team leadership and budget management, as well as a strong understanding of current marketing trends and drivers in the IT and networking industry.
You possess knowledge in various aspects of marketing including brand, demand generation, advertising, communications, marketing analytics, digital marketing: web, social & online, program development and execution, marketing automation and event management.
Ability to demonstrate your experience and results from driving integrated marketing including digital marketing, social marketing, advertising, event marketing, direct marketing, branding, PR and executive communications, sales engagement and enablement, and partner marketing.
Understanding of partner and services models.
Outstanding team player, culture leader and consistent collaborator in a highly matrixed environment. Proven good business judgment and accountability mindset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. French language a benefit.
A persuasive communicator and a good negotiator. Good time manager, planner and project manager. Industry and networking/category expertise a plus. Can demonstrate an ability to attract, develop and retain talent. Visionary and creative, with an ability to implement. Highly dynamic, motivated, and passionate. Team player that is able to get the best out of others including extended virtual teams. Hands-on manager and leader by example. Commands respect. Start-up mentality.
