What You'll Do

As Collaboration Systems Engineer, you lead our sales efforts across local and global accounts with Headquarters in Switzerland. The role focuses on driving use cases for Cisco’s Collaboration Product Portfolio and using Cisco Services.

You will use your engagement experience and subject matter expertise to build Cisco's relevance in delivering Collaboration Experiences - solution development, partner ecosystem, marketing, drive Go To Market, etc. You will lead, own and orchestrate Cisco and Partner resources to identify & qualify opportunities, close engagements to achieve product and services bookings targets

As Collaboration Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing Collaboration design expertise on high value opportunities. Seen as a leader with expert knowledge in one or more technical specializations and complementary technologies and services. Expertly collaborates with the account team community to develop winning and innovative solutions and proposals. Provides a consultative approach to understanding customer / partner technical and service requirements within an architectural Collaboration domain, including an expert knowledge of the competitive landscape. Mentors others and shares technical depth with Cisco community.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify Opportunities and drive them to closure with the Account Teams

  • Support territory surrounding identification of specialized opportunities

  • Support account planning when specialized opportunities are identified, especially on dedicated accounts or significant Customer and Partner opportunities

  • Impact market awareness by participating in seminars, showcases, public events, etc.

  • Develop and Present Cisco’s Collaboration Solution Offerings

  • Design and present customized solutions for specific customers / partners and industries

  • Provide trial, workshop and demonstration support

  • Provide technical qualification in for opportunity and be able to authoritatively recommend a Cisco validated designs or Cisco Eco-Partner solutions.

  • Actively recommend solutions options for customers / partners and serve as liaison for driving product and solution innovation within the Business Units

  • Develop, plan and coordinate with the account team with regard to deliverables and presentations for specific opportunities

  • Leverage business relationships with the Account Teams, and various technology and business groups within customers' organizations to recommend innovative customer solutions

  • Provide leadership and guidance in technical responses to customer RFP's

  • Perform executive-level presentations for customers, partners, and prospects

  • Engage with partners to transfer technical, business and soft skills to help them build a solutions / technology practice related to Cisco’s Collaboration portfolio.

  • Promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems.

Creating Business Relevance

  • Study key customers / partners and industries most relevant to your specialty, to gain clear understanding of key technical drivers and market issues

  • Articulate how technical leaders plan for their future network environments

  • Build trusted technical advisor relationships with technical executives at key customers and partner, communicating with the account team and partner as appropriate

  • Discuss the relevancy of new Cisco products / services in your specialty, with customer / partner technical leaders

Solution and Architectural Selling

  • Ensure the detailed features, functionality, capabilities, and architectural impact of Cisco products / solutions are understood and valued

  • Designs innovative, technology solutions, positioning the appropriate Cisco Services to drive technical and business objectives

  • Assists in developing the business case for Cisco technology solutions and region / market segments

  • Exhibit excellent knowledge of fundamental network principles, Applications and Middleware, pursuing additional industry certifications as appropriate to your specialization and in the context of Cisco's value proposition

Optimizing Sales Performance

  • Assist Account Team in developing the technology / services strategy for customer / partner accounts specific to your specialty, providing technical training as needed

  • Help the Account Team identify potential gaps in the relevant pieces of the customer's / partner's Architecture to create opportunities to enlarge the sales base

  • Help the Account Team evaluate and prioritize technical / services opportunities in your specialty, providing technology-specific expertise and addressing customer issues

  • Identify and mitigates potential deployment de-railers specific to one's specialty

Driving the Cisco Vision

  • Promote the Cisco vision for your specialty to technical audiences

  • Articulate the unique value obtained by integrating the various Cisco products in your specialty into a customer and parnters network

  • Describe the impact of general technology trends on the Cisco products / technologies in your specialty.

Who Are You

You will support Cloud and Hybrid Products: Cisco WebEx, Jabber IM (Cloud), CMR Cloud and Hybrid, Spark Services (Call, Message, Meet), hybrid services and along with phone and conferencing end points connected to the cloud. You can provide highest-level technical and design support to help resolve complex customer requirements from on-prem to Cisco Cloud. You love mentoring and mentoring others to help them advance in their career. You will participate in delivering and exceeding customer service level commitments.

Required Skillsets:

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent field and 2 to 5 years related experience.

  • You have 2 - 3 years' experience in support of Cisco Unified Communications or Business Video Solutions.

  • You can demonstrate and understanding of WebEx - Cloud application services, or Software as a Service (SaaS).

  • You have a deep understanding of call control protocols

  • You have hands on experience - Log Analysis (SIP/PRT/Wireshark/Http log/Fiddler)

  • Your written, verbal and presentation skills are superb

  • German and English is required

Desired Cisco Product Knowledge:

  • CCNA and/or CCNP Collaboration highly desired

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting SaaS solutions, enterprise applications, solutions and/or collaboration infrastructures is required.

  • Networking - Routing Switching (TCP/QoS)

  • Microsoft Solutions (Exchange, Active Directory, LDAP)

  • Microsoft (IIS, SQL), VMWare, Linux, SSL Certs

  • Strong working knowledge and support experience of Microsoft Office, Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android OS.

  • CUCM

  • Telepresence (VCS Expressway, VCS controller, TMS, Conferencing, TPS)

  • Protocols (SIP, RTP, DTMF, SAML, SMTP)

  • Web Proxy

  • Web API

  • Strong Coding Skills set (i.e. Python, JavaScript, Jason, etc.) preferable

  • Ability to provide leadership across entire collaboration solution to lead a technical team to find and resolve customer issues

  • Lead by example, mentor, and train others

  • Ability to work with Engineering architects to influence serviceability and usability design
